Company
SNE Swiss Neuro Engineering AG is dedicated to the development of single-use surgical instrumentation for minimally invasive procedures in neurosurgery and related fields. From the start, we have pursued the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability in design and manufacture.
All development and manufacturing processes are continuously refined and validated according to state-of-the-art methods. Feedback from our clinical and industrial partners is actively integrated to drive product improvements. Long-standing experience combined with growing expertise, lean structures, and curiosity for innovation are embedded in our daily work.
Our uncompromising quality standards and dependability lead to the highest level of customer and partner satisfaction. The surgeon, with their individual needs and requirements, is at the centre of our mission. We strive to be a competent partner for the development of tailored, innovative solutions in neurosurgical instrumentation from concept to series production.
Today, SNE is establishing itself internationally in minimally invasive surgery, providing practical, safe, and precise disposable instruments designed to enhance surgical workflows.
Products — DASI™
Deep Access Surgical Instruments — purpose-built for minimally invasive neurosurgery and adjacent disciplines.
The DASI family enables bimanual surgery inside narrow corridors such as tubular retractors — enabling capabilities that do not currently exist in comparable single-use form. Both instruments are sterile, individually packaged, and ready for the operating room.
DASI Bipolar Forceps (BF)
Controlled HF coagulation and haemostasis in deep surgical corridors. Compatible with bipolar cables and external high-frequency generators conforming to IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-2. Available in EU and US plug variants.
| Working length | 90 mm |
| Shaft OD | 2.6 mm |
| Tip | Bipolar, integrated HF connector |
| Plug variants | EU flat plug · US 2-pin |
DASI Micro Scissors (NS)
Precise neural tissue dissection. Direct mechanical transmission from handle to tip — predictable cutting force and full tactile feedback throughout.
| Working length | 90 mm |
| Shaft OD | 1.6 mm |
| Tip | Straight, 4 mm blade |
| Tip rotation | 360° lever-actuated |
Shared features
The DASI pair operates side by side inside narrow corridors such as tubular retractors — enabling true bimanual technique.
| Geometry | Bayonet, 16° angulation |
| Visibility | Unobstructed optical path |
| Compatibility | All standard tubular retractors |
| Supply | Sterile blister pack, single-use |
| Material | Medical-grade stainless steel |
Clinical Validation
DASI underwent independent pre-clinical evaluation at leading neurosurgical institutions in the United States and Europe prior to production.
Surgeons confirmed measurable improvements in intraoperative visibility, corridor ergonomics, and bimanual control compared to current reusable alternatives. Proof of concept was achieved in early 2024.
Further clinical usability validations are currently underway in preparation for regulatory submission.
Partnership
We work with established medtech companies to bring DASI to surgeons worldwide. If you have an existing portfolio in neurosurgery, ENT, spine, or minimally invasive surgery, please get in touch at info@sne-ag.ch.
